Product Description
The ESP LTD Deluxe EC1000 Electric Guitar is built to dominate for rhythm and lead players. The EC1000 is built with an incredible quilted maple top, a mahogany body with a set neck, a white bound rosewood fingerboard, ESP's excellent TonePros System II locking bridge, ESP locking tuners, 24 extra jumbo frets, and white binding with abalone on the body and headstock. Guitar players love the EMG 81 and 60 pickups for their wide range of sound - from sweet warm tones to raw rock 'n' roll. This is an excellent upgrade and it's a stock guitar!ESP LTD EC1000 FeaturesThinUShaped Mahogany Neck (Set-Neck)Hefty Mahogany Body Material24 Fret (Rosewood or Ebony) Fingerboard with Extra Jumbo fretsBlack Nickel or Gold HardwareESP Locking Tuners & Tonepros Locking BridgeEMG 81 Bridge & 60 Neck PickupsTonePros Locking Bridge SystemA simple concept that no one thought of until TonePros, the system features set screws on either side of the bridge and stop tailpiece. Because they secure solidly in place, intonation and tuning are more accurate-the bridge never falls off. Sustain is better, too, since all of the parts in the system are locked in place and become one with the guitar body.

5 out of 5 stars Great guitar   May 18, 2010
Ronald Shane Cornutt (Alabama, USA)
I have had the version with Duncan JB/59 combo for a couple of years. I am a Fender guy, always have been. I never liked the necks on Les Pauls, they just never felt comfortable. When I played one of these it was like a breath of fresh air. They are light, but sturdy. I simply do not understand how they can build a guitar of this quality for the price. Fit and finish was flawless, pots and switch works with no scratching, and the tone from the Duncans is exceptional. The extra jumbo frets may take some getting used to, especially if you are used to the vintage or medium jumbo frets on Strats or Teles. They take a lighter touch but make bends very easy. They were also perfectly finished with no sharp ends. The locking tuners make string changes a breeze, and the locking bridge and stop bar are great and insure everything stays put. Personally, I like the abalone binding though some may find it over the top.

You will not find an Epiphone that can touch this in terms of quality in build and sound. In fact, unless you are just a die-hard Gibson fan, you'll have a hard time justifying spending close to two grand for a Gibson after playing one. You'll get the same body style but they are much easier on the shoulders because they are light.

The honeymoon is long over but the love is still there. You seriously owe it to yourself to try one before you buy.

5 out of 5 stars Great Les Paul Alternative   July 20, 2009

I purchased this exact model one year ago, and had owned 2 other solid body electrics, an acoustic electric and a couple of acoustic guitars before I bought this one. It is awesome! And for a picky guitar player that buys and sells gear frequently, I've had this one for a year and have not considered selling it... I've played other brands of Les Pauls, and they manufacture these so well, I was disappointed not to see the same quality in many other guitars in this price range. The pickups are great, and can be adjusted from nice cleans to great powered humbucker gain. The Ebony fretboard and locking tuners are icing on the cake.
