Product Description The Hagstrom Select Series, Vintage Series, and UltraLux Series guitars recapture the original glorious Hagstrom style. They are built to the same stringent quality standards and feature Hagstrom's exclusive technologies including the legendary H-Expander Truss Rod while introducing a number of new technological advances such as the Resinator Fretboard in order to guarantee that these are the finest guitars on the market. The Vintage Series Tremar Swede combines a vintage Hagstrom Vibrato roller bridge with custom hardware to match. The Tremar Swede features a 45mm Mahogany Body with 10mm Carved Mahogany Top and set Mahogany neck. The fingerboard is made from Resinator wood with Hagstrom Pearl Block Position Marks. Resinator wood is more stable than any standard wood product. It is the perfect fingerboard material in that it eliminates wolf tones or hot spots, and it has a smooth, articulate sound. The H-Expander Truss Rod provides tension at either end and running the entire length of the neck, and the rigid yet lightweight alloy truss rod allows for a very low action and thin neck, two factors that were instrumental in earning Hagstrom its reputation as the world’s fastest playing guitar. Other features are: Hagstrom 18:1 die cast tuning keys, 24.75 inch scale length, a 3-way tone filter toggle, a Tremar Vibrato with Tremar Roller Bridge, 2 x volume/ 2 x tone, and 2 x Hagstrom Custom 58 Humbuckers.

| Customer Reviews: Great but this is NOT a Super Swede February 19, 2010 Danial Mcgraw (Saginaw, MI) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are great guitars, sounds like a Les Paul with better sustain, plays like an Ibanez and the necks are the straightest made by anyone. There isn't just a truss rod. There's an I-beam in the neck. PROBLEM: Someone got their wires crossed here. The Super Swede has a coil-tap switch near the tone pots. This has that goofy 3-way toggle on the lower horn that's better left bypassed. Also, the Super Swede doesn't even come in solid colors.
All in all these guitars are at least as good as a Gibson Les Paul in tone and playability and stay in tune MUCH better than a Gibson Paul with a Bigsby but this is the Swede NOT the Super Swede.
I'm not giving this a bad review. The Swede and the Super Swede are both killer guitars but don't buy this thinking you're getting a Super Swede.
Slightly overpriced February 18, 2010 Paul (Cleveland, Tennessee) I bought mine pretty mint in a pawn shop with custom hardcase for $450. No way I would pay $805 for this unit. Although it has a lot going for it - resinator fretboard, Hagstrom H-truss, Hagstrom Bigsby style tremelo, staircase tuner keys, tone switch, it is still an Asian Les Paul at heart.
The tone switch is nothing more than putting a capacitor or two in the circuit, which only cuts frequencies and a couple db in the process. I leave mine in bypass. The buckers are just fine. So it comes down to the Hagstrom version of the Bigsby, which you end up paying about $250 for over an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus. The roller bridge is a good thing, helping tuning greatly even with big dips on the whammy handle. But I don't know if it's worth it. If you want that slightly unique Hagstrom name, AND a Bigsby, this is for you. If you want the Les Paul sound and a Les Paul body with a quality Asian made guitar, also look at Epiphone and Samick. You just might save a few hundred dollars.
